We are a leading specialist in the development and the turnkey installation of custom built machines for factory automation and assembly. Our highly qualified staff consists of engineers, computer scientists, automation technicians, mechanical and electrical designers, mechanics, and other skilled employees.

To meet the demands of our international clients, our over 70 employees work in three different locations.

2024

Our subsidiary in Mexico, which was registered with the Mexican Institute of Industrial Property as «Rele Systems S.A. de C.V.» up until recently, has officially changed its name and is now operating as «LCA Automation de México S.A. de C.V.».

2023

As of June 29, 2023, SHL Medical AG acquires 100 % of the LCA shares and thus takes over LCA Automation AG.

2022

LCA Automation AG is celebrating its 50th anniversary, while the subsidiary in Shanghai is celebrating 10 years of business activity.

2021

11 sliding shaft assembly lines have been built and delivered by LCA Automation AG.

2021

Affentranger Bau AG in Wiedlisbach is the first Swiss customer to put a LCA Automation AG produced 3D concrete printing system into operation.

LCA Automation AG completes its first 3D concrete printer, put into operation at Pikus 3D in Salt Lake City, USA as the world’s largest printer of its kind.

Sika AG teams up with LCA Automation AG as an industry partner to push the construction and developement of a 3D concrete printer.

LCA Automation AG moves to its new headquarter on Erlistrasse 3 in Küssnacht am Rigi, Switzerland. Logistically, this location offers many more options to make work much easier through crane runways and higher ceilings.

Mai 2015

Establishment of LCA Automation de México in Puebla, Mexico.

January 2015

LCA Automation AG takes over the manufacturing team and all related business of the H. Henseler AG company in Küssnacht am Rigi.

January 2013

LCA Automation AG takes over the business activities and all employees of the Referenz Automation GmbH.

July 2012

The Swiss Association for Quality and Management Systems SQS awards LCA Automation AG’s management system with the quality certificate ISO 9001:2008.

Establishment of the subsidiary LCA Automation (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. in Shanghai, China.

2011

The first sliding shaft assembly line is delivered to Mexico.

2010

Christoph A. P. Rennhard acquires 100% of LCA Automation AG shares and leads the company as CEO and owner. He extends the software department and positions the company as a general contractor. The company offers engineering, complete production lines and test benches for various industries. Together with long-standing partner thyssenkrupp Presta AG, LCA Automation AG continues to deliver assembly lines and test benches to the automotive industry.

1991

Acquisition of the department for special machines from Landis & Gyr company in Zug, Switzerland.

1989

Antonio Chicherio takes over the LCA Automation AG.

1980s

First cooperation with thyssenkrupp Presta AG which lasts until today. The cycle times of our systems have been continuously optimized ever since.

1973

The oil crisis hits the swiss textile industry with full force. In addition to that, factories in Europe have very low utilization because of currency reforms and import restrictions. Up-and-coming countries stimulate the competition with cheaper products. Under these circumstances the textile manufacturer Heberlein & Co. AG from Wattwil reorganizes itself, selling LCA Maschinenbau to André R. Röthlisberger-Federer.

1972

Establishment of LCA Machine Construction as a department of Spälti AG in Obfelden, Zurich. The department develops and installs special purpose machines and factory automation equipment.
